We offer a unique learning experience. Courses are designed to provide graduates with the comprehensive knowledge base and superior hands-on skills necessary to become an exceptional EMT and Paramedic. We believe patients are entitled to the best care possible and set "excellence" as the standard we require.
The faculty has outstanding experience. Each member of the School of EMS' award-winning faculty has been carefully selected for his/her knowledge, outstanding teaching skills, classroom experience and between 10 and 30 years experience providing emergency care in the field. Each faculty member is a state-certified Emergency Medical Services Instructor. The program has graduated more than 24 Paramedic classes.
The school has an ideal physical plant. The School of EMS occupies the top floor of the Euclid Hospital Health Center. It contains two modern classrooms. Each with a full range of audio-visual equipment. In addition, the school has 10 Lab breakout rooms used for small group hands-on skill practice sessions.
Mastery of hands-on skills is emphasized. After students view a detailed common classroom demonstration, each hands-on skill is practiced in small group lab sessions supervised by a lab Preceptor and directed by the Program Lab Coordinator. When a student can flawlessly reproduce the skill, he/she is checked-out and cleared to further practice it on patients in a clinical setting.
We provide an unsurpassed clinical opportunity at eight hospitals, two Hospice Centers, and twelve Fire Departments with which the School of EMS is affiliated. At these varied clinical sites, students learn patient care and practice skills under the direct supervision of the clinical specialists who serve as our clinical preceptors.
