Admission Requirements

 

To be eligible for admission you must:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Test at a 10th grade or better reading level, and 9th grade math level.
  • Pass an interview by one or more staff members.
  • NOT have been convicted of any crimes listed under Section 4765-8-01 (A), (3) of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC).
  • NOT be currently charged with any felony or serious misdemeanor.
  • NOT be engaged in the illegal use of controlled substances, alcohol or other habit forming drugs or chemical substance.
  • Complete our Student Health History/Exam form and meet the health requirements verified by a licensed physician including history, physical exam and immunizations.
  • Be considered physically able to function properly and safely as an EMT/Paramedic by the examining physician.
  • Pass a drug test administered at a selected Cleveland Clinic hospital (at no charge to the student).
  • Agree to the School's policies as outlined in the Student Handbook.
  • Paramedic candidates must also possess a valid Ohio EMT-B Certification.

 

Candidates must pay a non-refundable $25 application processing fee. This fee is waived for Cleveland Clinic employees.

 

Candidates are considered on individual merits without discrimination due to age (if over 18), creed, national or ethnic origin, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, or marital status.
